Every Nautilus Filter™ is powered by our refillable Five-Chamber Carbon Helix™ (Patent Pending). It is the core technology behind both the PRO and OEM models and the foundation of the Nautilus engineering philosophy.

Maximum Performance
The Nautilus Filter™ PRO is our flagship holding tank vent filter and is recommended whenever installation space permits.
The PRO was engineered around two primary objectives.
First, maximize activated carbon capacity.
Second, minimize airflow restriction.
The larger diameter Carbon Helix™ provides substantially greater activated carbon capacity than conventional disposable vent filters while producing nearly zero airflow restriction during normal operation.
Powered by our refillable Five-Chamber Carbon Helix™ (Patent Pending), the Nautilus Filter™ PRO delivers over 6× the odor removal performance and service life of conventional disposable holding tank vent filters.
The PRO also incorporates an integrated silicone reverse-flow bypass valve. During aggressive pump-outs, the bypass valve automatically opens when required to provide unrestricted airflow back into the holding tank, helping reduce the possibility of excessive vacuum, tank deformation, or tank collapse. During normal operation, the bypass valve remains closed so vent air continues to pass through the Carbon Helix™ for maximum odor removal.
The Carbon Helix™ is designed to remain in service for years. When the activated carbon reaches the end of its useful life, customers simply refill the Carbon Helix™ using the Nautilus Filter™ PRO Carbon Refill Kit.
The result is a premium holding tank vent filter engineered for maximum odor removal performance, long service life, unrestricted tank ventilation, and economical long-term ownership.
Recommended Applications
The Nautilus Filter™ PRO is recommended when:

The inventor (Joe) of this new vent filter has built a better mouse trap as the saying goes. In this case its a better smell trap. The issue with existing vent filters is the residence time for the malodor of hydrogen sulfide gas, mercaptans and organic acids from anaerobic bacteria. Traditional filters have a very short residence or time the gases from holding tanks spend in the carbon bed. To make things worse, straight pipe vent filters mounted horizontal end up with compressed carbon and leaving an air gap at the top for the odors to travel quickly past the carbon, making them useless.
A 5 chamber helix for the flow of the gases is the patent pending design; it creates six (6) times the residence over a straight flow filter. The longer the gases are in contact with the blended carbon, the more it absorbs the odor. The helix design solved another problem, if mounted horizontal and when the carbon breaks down leaving an air gap at the top, the flow direction always is going down and back up putting it in contact with the carbon most of the time. It can be mounted vertically too.
Joe didn't stop there; he integrated a umbrella style relieve valve in a tube down the middle of the filter. This is a safety relief for when you are getting your waste tank pumped out. Most of the pump stations have pumps that are so fast, they put a lot of demand on that vent line. Not to impede on that process, it has this bypass tube. I've not seen this in any other filter.
All this great design and there is more; Its refillable ! Refills are sold here - REFILL. Additionally, the caps were designed with self centering threads so they won't cross thread during refill time. Leave the hoses in place and remove the filter by hand. The caps have an integrated silicone seal that will last for many years. The hose barbs were purpose made for vapor, making them very easy to push hose on during install.
